The Patricians is an Adult monthly Catholic discussion group on Church teaching of various topics sponsored by The Legion of Mary. No registration necessary, come when you can! New topics are discussed each month.
Meetings occur the 2nd Tuesday of the Month 7 - 9 p.m. at the Co-Cathedral Centre (1701 San Jacinto, Houston).
*There are no meetings on Holy Days of Obligation, holidays, or other days with civic or religious duties; in these months, meetings are moved to the following week when these exceptions occur.
What is the Patricians?
The Society of the Patricians was established in 1955. It is an educational outreach program of the Legion of Mary. Its purpose is to build up the religious knowledge of the people, to teach them how to explain themselves and to encourage them to apostleship. It is designed to enable, empower, and encourage the lay Catholic to articulate the teachings of the Church with confidence and orthodoxy (right teaching).
Who should come?
The Patricians is for Catholic men and women only. Adult non-Catholics seeking to learn more about the Catholic Church and its teachings should inquire more properly into the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.). It is not necessary, expected, or implied that one must join the Legion of Mary in order to participate.
