Nature
and Purpose of the Finance Council
The
Finance Council consults with the Pastor on financial matters of
the parish. The members help the pastor by:
- Performing regular reviews of the budget versus actual expenditures.
- Working with the staff to set annual budget objectives for the parish.
- Reviewing annual budget requests made by the parish staff.
- Balancing wants and needs versus the means to support them.
- Participating in long range planning from a financial perspective.
- Developing stewardship campaigns to ensure adequate revenue to meet parish needs.
Communication
Key to the success of the Council is two-way communication. To
help achieve this objective, this page contains information on
financial matters the Council believes are of importance to the
parish.
Equally important is input from the parishioners that voices their feelings on all aspects of parish life. To help this interaction with the Finance Council, you will find a "Talk to the Council" link at the bottom of this page that you can use to communicate your suggestions to them.
