From the Office of Daniel Cardinal DiNardo of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston:
"Over the past days, all of us have been following the historic flooding in Louisiana. The region is experiencing what is being called the worst domestic disaster since Super Storm Sandy...Lives have been cruelly altered. As a people of God, let us come to their aid. I encourage parishioners across Galveston-Houston to respond generously. Our prayer and material support is urgently needed to help rebuild lives.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families that have lost loved ones and to all those living in communities who have lost homes and businesses along with their sense of security. We also stand with our brother bishops in the region who have the difficult task of providing pastoral care in these most trying times while managing simultaneously their own losses."
Please be generous when giving towards this emergency collection for the 2016 Louisiana Floods. This second collection will be" taken the weekend of September 17 & 18. This emergency collection will be used both to support the humanitarian efforts of Catholic Charities and to provide pastoral and rebuilding support to impacted dioceses."
