CATECHUMENATE PATHWAY 1ST PART OF PATHWAY - Inquiry
Complete parish Welcome Form
Welcome Interview with family. The interview is an opportunity to meet with the family so a dialogue can begin on best way to proceed in preparing the family to assist children in developing a personal relationship with Jesus and grow in their understanding of the Catholic Church and living a sacramental life.
Once a process has been established for the Inquiry Year the family will be assigned a Parish Sponsor.
The Parish Sponsor walks with the family through the Inquiry process and assists the family in getting to know our parish better.
The Inquiry process can take up to one year or more. During the Inquiry time we encourage the family to attend mass, ask questions and attend the classes that they are assigned to attend.
2ND PART OF PATHWAY - Catechumenate
Completed Inquiry Pathway
Complete Parish Registration Form if it has not already been done.
Complete Sacrament Registration Form. Attach Birth Certificate of child.
Participate in the Rite of Acceptance
Attend Catechumenate classes
Choose Godparents and have them complete Sacrament Sponsor Form
Family attends retreat.
3RD PART OF PATHWAY - Purification & Enlightment (Elect)
Choose Godparents and have them complete Sacrament Sponsor Form.
Rite of Sending & Rite of Election.
Children continue to attend assigned classes.
Children receive Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist at Easter Vigil
4TH PART OF PATHWAY - Mystagogy
Family attends 2 final classes that assist them in finding ways to become involved in the parish and continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus and their understanding of the Catholic Church.
They are also assisted in completing registration to attend regular Catechism classes and 1st Reconciliation preparation classes.
