Matthew 8 Ministry - Eucharistic Service and Pastoral Care for the Homebound
Our brothers and sisters who are homebound due to age or illness need the Church--the Eucharist, the presence of Jesus--more than ever. But it’s a time in their lives when they are most isolated.
The mission of the Matthew 8 Ministry is to maintain the connection between those who are homebound and the larger community through the Eucharist and through pastoral outreach. Specially trained ministers serve our homebound brothers and sisters by taking the Eucharist to their homes and spending time visiting and praying with them. The homebound serve the community by their witness of faith, trust, and patience in the midst of suffering.
If God is calling you to participate in this ministry as a pastoral care/Eucharistic minister, a new minister training will be held on Saturday, June 9th,9 AM-2 PM. Be advised that Virtus and EOM training is also required. Once fully trained, the average time commitment per week is about an hour.
