Pastoral Visitors are devoted to alleviating what Mother Teresa called “the terrible poverty of loneliness” by providing weekly visits to the homebound and elderly in our area. Many of our volunteers develop lasting friendships with those they serve, and those friendships strengthen the body of Christ. Our parish has been given permission by the Archdiocese to again visit nursing homes and the homebound of our registered parishioners. The three facilities that our trained volunteers visit are: Focus, Regency Village, and The Shores at Clear Lake.
The paastoral visitors (was Matthew 8) bring the “Body of Christ” to those who are unable to attend Mass. They also share their talents of conversing and listening with the elderly and homebound in our community who otherwise may be isolated. An hour or two a week can provide much needed connection, comfort and companionship for those who are lonely. If you would like to request visitation for a loved one, know of someone who would benefit from a visit from one of our volunteers, know of someone who would like the Eucharist brought to them or are interested in joining our team of volunteers, please contact Kathy Giannini, Director of Liturgy. Training for this ministry will be provided
